Unnecessarily So

Mondays are OTW posts, and I have something a little different to share with you today! My post schedule has been disregarded for several weeks, but I have good reason. I've been preoccupied with the necessary shenanigans regarding  moving into university. Today marks the start of my third week here, and I can honestly say that I'm loving it. I'll spare you soppy details of how I love my course and flatmates - and I'll leave rambles about my new found independence for another post. Look forward to that. For now, I will formally invite you to take a peek at my university bedroom! I'm staying within student accommodation, and as you'll see, I went a little OTT with the whole matchy-matchy interiors. Its cute and cosy - rather unnecessarily so, actually. Do come in...

The first thing that springs to mind upon hearing the words "uni room" is a dark and dingy cell. 99.9% of the time, that's pretty accurate, but to my surprise, my room was rather large and airy in comparison (though I really shouldn't be surprised; I am paying for it). I've got the biggest wet room you could possibly imagine, as well as a 3/4 bed. Yes!

My bed is my pride and joy. No exaggeration. I love this bedding. Love it. It's rather sad how excited I am about my room.

My desk is nice and large, and I couldn't possibly leave home without my fairy lights. There's always one, isn't there. I thought it best to make my desk as homely and inviting as possible, and what better way to do that than with pink polka dots and floral tins?

Obviously, at Uni, you don't get the luxury of sufficient storage space, so I bought some cute little holders that I could just pop 'clutter' like makeup into. They are extremely handy (more so than a makeup bag) and an easy way to keep my desk somewhat presentable!

Top tip - buy as much storage as you can!

So, there you have it; the bedroom of a Literature fresher. Most of my room is from Ikea and vintage home stores, though I made a conscious effort to make sure everything was as inexpensive as possible. Student life.

I look forward to posting some Uni outfits - particularly adapting daytime combinations for nightlife!

  5. Hey! Welcome back! ^_^ Love what you did with what little space you had to work with. Dorms are always so teeny tiny, but your room doesn't feel claustrophobic. Rather, it looks welcoming and cozy. <3
