I have a thing with orange.

I have an affinity for this colour. I find myself pulling out various items from my wardrobe all. in. this. colour. It seems to be my summer motif. It's a very distinct and specific orange. Not the orange of juicy clementines or fresh carrots or voluptuous pumpkins. Not the orange of autumn leaves or sweet peppers. No.

This is the orange of the African Daisy.

This colour is sun-kissed, vibrant and beautiful. Summer goodness is all this soul needs. 

My adoration for this silky playsuit is never ending, and on a glorious day, my trusty kimono is the perfect coverup. And, of course, it's back to '95 with my velcro Zara sandals.

Dancing in sunlight is one of my favourite pastimes.

Hello, lovelies!

It is no secret that this summer fashion is taking a blast from the past. The 1970s are back. This season has borrowed the highlights of the era (flares, suede and experimental prints) and revamped them with a contemporary twist. Leading retailers ASOS and BooHoo have even dedicated sections of their websites to the trend. 

I can't help but fall in love with the nostalgic designs currently available, but despite my admiration of the 70s revamp, I find myself picking up the vintage items in my wardrobe. A remake is a nice homage, but it's just not the real thing.

This dress fills me with flower power vibes and dreams hippie goodness. The abstract print is comparable to the gorgeous creations of vintage Emilio Pucci with remnants of the '64 Unikko print by iconic design house Marimekko. Although I adore the print of this authentic dress, for me, it is the collar that gives it oomph. Oversized collars are what 70s dreams are made of.

There is something undoubtedly fascinating about being able to recreate the past, and with my mum's high-school bag slung over my shoulder, my nostalgic yearning has never been stronger. This dress has been part of my wardrobe for a few years now, yet I tend to neglect it until I undergo a wave of desire for all things vintage. Recently, I've been lusting over Chloé's summer 2015 collection - one of the leading brands during the 70s now recreates the styles beautifully.

Winter is still very much with us, but that seemingly means absolutely nothing when I get dressed in the morning. If even a slither of the sun's glorious rays manages to penetrate the gloomy clouds of winter, then it's bright colours and summer vibes for my wardrobe. I know no other way.

With my 'fro out, wandering through local lakes, I feel free. Throwing on a simple white shirt always gives me that incomparable feeling of optimism. I don't know. A white shirt is confidence, comfort, cool - anything you want it to be. Am I over-romanticising? Possibly.

This outfit is so simple and chill, and I can't get enough of this vibrant crop top. Hallelujah, Zara. I hope you enjoyed this look ft. the coat I never take off.
