As yellow leaves descend and settle, they create a carpet crisp and golden. It is this transition that inspires me. From the freshness of leafy green to brick red, burnt orange and caramel, the autumnal palette is one to be admired. My wardrobe unsurprisingly imitates these earthy colours, and I find myself overwhelmed with feelings of closure. The vividity of summer has come to an end, and it is time for a new beginning. New season, new term. Hello Autumn.

With a new academic year comes the preparations of obtaining all the necessary equipment for the term ahead. Stationary. Books. Bags. It's a purely utilitarian shopping spree, right? I like to convince myself of that. I may have strayed from my original academic shopping list and picked up a few bits from New Look... AW collections are just too enticing.
Shooting this look was just as fun as putting it together; my talented friend Joanna Sellick worked her magic and produced these wonderful photos. High spirits on a bright autumn afternoon assured a swift and successful shoot midway through a busy schedule of lectures. Jo is beautifully creative - so check out her blog here.
Are you as captivated by the changing of the seasons as I? Let me know your favourite autumnal necessities in the comments below! I hope you enjoyed this post.
Have a wonderful day!
