Red Horizon

Hey there! I am so behind, but here is a quick post on what I did last Thursday:

My friend and I decided to spend the day in a lovely town called Market Harborough, which is known for its upmarket boutiques and maintained Georgian buildings. Admittedly, window shopping was the aim of the trip, and I'm afraid I don't have any lovely purchases to show you guys just yet. However, I would definitely recommend spending the day there if you live in the Leicestershire / Northamptonshire region.

There were so many lovely shops selling adorable vintage style home accessories such as candles, chalk boards and cushions. Swoon. Definitely a place you need to bring your mother if she's anything like mine (working mum by day, aspiring interior designer by night).

We entered a kitchen wares store that boasted a collection of unique and quirky mugs, and after spending longer than we should have browsing, we noticed a tiny little café at the back of the shop! It was so adorable. There was a little walkway that joined together the shop and café, which was cluttered with the most beautiful teacups and saucers. All had intricate floral designs in complementary pastel colours. Think Cath Kidston meets Grandma's favourite china set.

Once we were inside the café, we were both rather taken back by the meticulous attention to detail that was so evident in the room. The wallpaper matched the adorable menus that contained all the homemade tea-room favourites you'd expect. Delish. Of course, the white hot chocolate and almond cake I ordered come on a beautifully decorated cup and saucer, and I must say, the chef was particularly generous with our cake slices! Although pricey, I'd say it's definitely worth a trip (now if only I could remember the name of the place).

Here's the outfit I wore:

Dress: H&M
Blazer: Forever 21
Satchel: Camden Market

First time this year I've got my bumped and bruised legs out! Seriously, my knees are grazed like a 5 year olds'. Pass me the Bio-oil!

Striped clothing is a summer essential. I think that's a given. The emergence of bright primary coloured horizontal lines and the sun is synonymous - unless you are Taylor Swift. In that case, stripes are a wardrobe staple. Sort it out, Swifty. In her defence, I must say, nobody pulls off stripes quite so well.

I was inspired by bloggers such as Helen of The Lovecats Inc and this perfect summery number:

With my own outfit, I thought I'd keep it simple with a black waterfall blazer, some studded flats and my go-to satchel. I added the brown belt to counter the brown on the satchel and give the outfit more structure.

                                                                                                                 Well, that'll be all! xx
